Description
Easy Chocolate Brownies are a simple, fudgy dessert combining rich chocolate flavor with a gooey center. Perfect for any chocolate lover.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Mix the melted butter with sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined. Stir in the cocoa powder.
- Whisk together flour, salt, and baking powder in a separate bowl, then add it to the butter mixture and stir until just combined.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For a vegan option, substitute unsweetened applesauce (1/4 cup per egg) for the eggs and use coconut oil or vegetable oil instead of butter.
- Brown sugar can be used instead of granulated sugar for added moisture and flavor.
- Whole wheat flour can replace all-purpose flour for a healthier option, though it may change the texture slightly.
