Description
This *Easy Apple Tart* features a flaky crust with a sweet, cinnamon-spiced apple filling. It’s a simple and delicious dessert perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- Prepared pie crust
- 2 tablespoons butter
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 3 pounds apples (about 9 cups), cored and sliced
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon water
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add apples, brown sugar, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss together, reduce heat, cover, and cook until apples are tender, for 15-20 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
- Roll out the dough to a 14-inch circle on parchment paper. Transfer the dough to a baking sheet.
- Arrange the cooled apples in the center of the dough, leaving about 2 inches of space around the edge. Fold the dough over the apples and gently press to seal.
- Brush the dough with water and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
- Bake the tart for 45 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the apples are tender. Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For a lighter crust, use puff pastry instead of pie crust.
- If you prefer a sweeter tart, adjust the sugar levels based on the type of apples you use.
- Try adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce when serving for extra indulgence.
