  • 1 and 1/2 cups mashed bananas
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons hot water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan with butter, cooking spray, or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir in 3/4 cup chocolate chips to coat.
  3. In another bowl, beat softened butter and sugar until creamy (3-5 minutes). Add eggs one at a time, mixing fully after each addition.
  4. Mix in yogurt, mashed bananas, and vanilla extract until just combined.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients on low speed, mixing until combined but still slightly lumpy.
  6. Stir in 2 tablespoons hot water to smooth batter.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly. Sprinkle remaining 2 tablespoons chocolate chips on top.
  8. Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cover with foil if top browns too quickly.
  9. Cool in pan for 1-2 hours before slicing.
