Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for about 2 minutes.
  4. Carefully add boiling water to the batter and mix until combined.
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans and bake for 30 to 35 minutes.

  8. Level the tops of the cooled cakes, frost the top of one layer, and place the second layer on top. Frost the entire cake and create a textured surface.
