- 6 tablespoons water
- 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon orange zest
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 6 ounces brie cheese
- Coarse sugar for sprinkling
- Optional: 1-2 pecan halves for each tart
- Optional for garnish: flaky sea salt and fresh thyme
Instructions
- Prepare the dough by chilling homemade puff pastry or thawing store-bought puff pastry.
- Make the cranberry sauce by combining cranberries, water, orange juice, and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat for about 10 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a 12-cup muffin pan.
- Roll out the puff pastry to 1/8 inch thick and cut into 12 squares for the muffin cups.
- Brush pastry squares with egg wash, place a piece of brie cheese in the center, and spoon cranberry sauce on top.
- Fold the corners of dough squares toward the center and sprinkle with coarse sugar and pecans if using.
- Bake for about 20 minutes at 400°F (200°C) until golden brown.
- Cool briefly and garnish with flaky sea salt and fresh thyme before serving.
