Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Spread dough evenly in prepared pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until edges are golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
- Don’t overmix the dough to avoid dense bars.
- For best results, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
- Accurate flour measurement is key to achieving the perfect texture.
