Description

Chocolate Raspberry Crinkles are soft, chewy cookies with a rich chocolate flavor and a burst of fruity raspberry, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (or avocado/olive oil)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed light or dark brown sugar
  • 1 large egg, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract or raspberry liqueur
  • 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup unsweetened natural cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup raspberry preserves
  • 3/4 cup confectioners sugar (for topping)
  • 1/2 cup freeze-dried raspberries (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, cream softened butter and oil until fluffy. Add granulated and brown sugars; beat until light and airy.
  2. Add the egg and vanilla extract or raspberry liqueur. Mix until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a thick dough forms.
  5. Fold in raspberry preserves gently with a spatula.
  6. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and chill for at least 3 hours.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  8. Grind freeze-dried raspberries into powder and mix with confectioners sugar.
  9. Shape dough into 1.5-tablespoon-sized balls. Roll in raspberry sugar topping.
  10. Place on baking sheets, spaced apart. Bake for 12–14 minutes.
  11. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • Do not skip chilling the dough — it helps develop flavor and create the crinkle texture.
  • Use high-quality cocoa powder for the best chocolate flavor.
  • Freeze dough balls for up to 3 months for fresh-baked cookies anytime.
  • Try alternative fruit preserves for a flavor twist (e.g., strawberry or cherry).
