- 1 cup sour cream, at room temperature
- 1/4 cup milk, at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped fresh strawberries
- 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate bar, coarsely chopped
- 1 teaspoon vegetable oil (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (218°C) and prepare a 12-count muffin pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg, then add sugar and melted butter until well combined. Stir in sour cream, milk, and vanilla extract.
- Pour wet mixture into dry ingredients, combining gently with a spatula. Fold in strawberries and chocolate chips.
- Fill muffin liners to the top with batter and bake at 425°F for 5 minutes.
- Reduce temperature to 350°F (177°C) and continue baking for another 17-19 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- While cooling, melt the chopped chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 15 seconds.
- Drizzle melted chocolate over muffins while warm.
