Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare a muffin tin by lining it with paper liners or greasing it with cooking spray.
- Mix the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Whisk the wet ingredients: melted butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.
- Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just mixed.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Scoop the batter into the muffin tin, filling each cup about two-thirds full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool for 5 minutes in the tin, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Do not overmix the batter to avoid dense muffins.
- For a twist, add nuts like walnuts or pecans along with the chocolate chips.
- You can substitute whole wheat or gluten-free flour for a different texture.
- Make sure to use room temperature ingredients for a smoother batter.
- For extra chocolate flavor, sprinkle a few chocolate chips on top before baking.
