Ingredients
- Penne pasta: 300 grams (about 10.5 oz)
- Ground beef: 500 grams (about 1 lb)
- Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
- Butter: 60 grams (about 4 tablespoons)
- Cheddar cheese: 150 grams, shredded (about 1.5 cups)
- Mozzarella cheese: 150 grams, shredded (about 1.5 cups)
- Heavy cream: 240 ml (about 1 cup)
- Italian seasoning: 1 teaspoon
- Salt: to taste
- Pepper: to taste
- Fresh herbs: (such as parsley or basil) for garnish
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
- Drain the pasta, reserving about 1 cup of the cooking water, and set aside.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat, then add the ground beef, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook until browned.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and sprinkle the Italian seasoning, stirring well and letting it simmer for 3-5 minutes.
- Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
- Stir in the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses until melted and evenly distributed.
- Transfer to a baking dish, sprinkle additional cheese on top, and broil for 3-5 minutes until golden brown.
- Garnish with fresh herbs and serve warm.
