Description
Cheeseburger egg rolls are a delightful twist on the classic cheeseburger, featuring ground beef, melted cheese, and fresh green onions wrapped in a crispy shell.
Ingredients
- Ground beef: 1 lb (450 g)
- Shredded cheddar cheese: 1 cup (100 g)
- Green onions: 1/4 cup, chopped (about 2-3 green onions)
- Garlic powder: 1 teaspoon
- Worcestershire sauce: 1 tablespoon
- Egg roll wrappers: 10-12 pieces
- Oil for frying: Enough for deep frying (approximately 2 cups or 500 ml)
- Salt and pepper: To taste
Instructions
- Prepare the filling by cooking ground beef in a skillet with salt, pepper, and garlic powder until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add Worcestershire sauce and chopped green onions to the beef mixture and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
- Assemble the egg rolls by placing 2-3 tablespoons of the filling in the center of an egg roll wrapper, folding and sealing it tightly.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C) and fry the egg rolls in batches for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Serve with your favorite dipping sauces.
Notes
- For a healthier option, consider baking the egg rolls at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes.
- Experiment with different fillings, such as ground turkey or a vegetarian mix.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
