- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup granulated sugar (for caramel sauce)
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for caramel sauce)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C). Combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar. Press into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. Bake for 10 minutes and cool.
- Beat softened cream cheese with sugar, vanilla, and eggs. Add sour cream and mix until smooth. Pour over cooled crust and bake in a water bath at 325°F for 55-65 minutes, until edges are set but center is slightly wobbly. Let cool in the oven for 1 hour.
- For caramel sauce: Melt sugar over medium heat until golden brown. Add butter, heavy cream, vanilla, and salt. Stir until smooth. Cool slightly before pouring over chilled cheesecake.
- Refrigerate cheesecake for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. Drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.
