Description

Delightful Candy Corn Cupcakes that capture the essence of Halloween candy with vibrant colors and fluffy texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Yellow food coloring
  • Orange food coloring
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons heavy cream or milk (for frosting)
  • Edible glitter (for decoration)
  • Candy corn (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with colorful liners.
  2. Cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and stir in vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture, alternating with milk.
  4. Divide the batter among cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full. Bake for 18-20 minutes, checking with a toothpick for doneness.
  5. Let the cupcakes cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  6. For the frosting, beat softened butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar. Mix in heavy cream or milk until fluffy.
  7. Divide frosting into three bowls, tint one yellow, one orange, and leave one white. Pipe the frosting onto the cupcakes in layers to resemble candy corn.
  8. Decorate with edible glitter and top with candy corn.

Notes

  • Be careful not to over-mix the batter to keep cupcakes fluffy.
  • Measure ingredients accurately for best results.
  • Check oven temperature for even baking.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days.
  • For gluten-free cupcakes, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free blend.
