Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with colorful liners.
- Cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture, alternating with milk.
- Divide the batter among cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full. Bake for 18-20 minutes, checking with a toothpick for doneness.
- Let the cupcakes cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- For the frosting, beat softened butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar. Mix in heavy cream or milk until fluffy.
- Divide frosting into three bowls, tint one yellow, one orange, and leave one white. Pipe the frosting onto the cupcakes in layers to resemble candy corn.
- Decorate with edible glitter and top with candy corn.
