Description

Cake Batter Chocolate Chip Cookies are chewy, colorful, and loaded with sweet cake batter flavor, chocolate chips, and sprinkles. A festive treat perfect for parties, holidays, or anytime you crave something special.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 and 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 and 1/4 cup yellow or vanilla boxed cake mix
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 egg, at room temperature
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Sift together the flour, cake mix, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  2. In another bowl, beat the softened butter with granulated and brown sugar until creamy.
  3. Add the egg and beat on high speed until fully combined. Mix in vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Add chocolate chips and sprinkles, mixing on low speed until evenly distributed.
  6. Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or up to 4 days.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  8. Scoop about 1.5 tablespoons of dough per cookie onto the baking sheets, spacing them out.
  9. Bake for 13–15 minutes, until edges are lightly browned and centers are soft.
  10. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the dough after adding dry ingredients to avoid tough cookies.
  • Always use room temperature butter and egg for best results.
  • Chill the dough to prevent cookies from spreading too much.
  • Cookies can be frozen as dough balls and baked straight from the freezer.
