Description
Brioche buns are a delightful treat known for their soft, fluffy texture and rich flavor, perfect for gourmet burgers or sandwiches.
Ingredients
- All-purpose flour: 500 grams (4 cups)
- Unsalted butter: 100 grams (7 tablespoons), softened
- Eggs: 3 large
- Milk: 250 milliliters (1 cup), warm
- Sugar: 50 grams (1/4 cup)
- Yeast: 10 grams (2 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- Salt: 10 grams (1 teaspoon)
Instructions
- Activate the yeast by mixing warm milk with sugar and sprinkling yeast on top. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture, softened butter, and eggs. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough, divide it into 8 pieces, and shape each into a ball. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Cover the shaped buns and let them rise for 30-45 minutes until puffed up.
- Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F). Brush the tops of the buns with a beaten egg if desired, then bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack.
Notes
- Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for best results.
