Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon water
- Ice
- 3 ounces gin
- 12 ounces tonic water
- Lime wedges for serving
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine blueberries, sugar, and water. Cook over medium heat until it begins to simmer, stirring occasionally.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and continue cooking for 5 minutes until blueberries burst and form a syrup. Stir often.
- Transfer the syrup to a small bowl and cool to room temperature. Refrigerate until chilled.
- Fill two glasses with ice. Divide the chilled blueberry syrup evenly (about 4 tablespoons each).
- Add 3 ounces of gin and 12 ounces of tonic water to each glass. Stir gently to combine.
- Garnish with lime wedges and serve immediately.
Notes
- Use fresh blueberries for optimal flavor and vibrant color.
- Start with less syrup and adjust to taste to avoid excessive sweetness.
- Freeze leftover syrup in ice cube trays for future use.
- Add a splash of club soda for extra fizz if desired.
