- 1 cup red jam (such as raspberry or strawberry)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
- Candy eyeballs (for decoration)
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg. Whisk until well mixed.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the whole milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the dough for about 30 minutes.
- Roll out the chilled dough to about 1/2 inch thick and cut out donut shapes.

- Dust the filled donuts with powdered sugar and place a candy eyeball on top of each.
- Serve on a dark plate for a dramatic presentation.
Notes
- Be careful not to overmix the dough to avoid tough donuts.
- Ensure the oil temperature is correct for frying.

- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for 1-2 days or freeze for up to a month.
