Blondies with Maple Glaze

  • Author: Louna
  • Total Time: 40-45 minutes
  • Yield: 12-16 squares 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

Blondies with Maple Glaze are a delightful treat with a buttery flavor and sweet maple glaze. They are soft, chewy, and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional, such as walnuts or pecans)
  • For the maple glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 12 tablespoons milk (or heavy cream for a thicker glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter and brown sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. If desired, fold in chopped nuts.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean with a few moist crumbs.
  5. Let the blondies cool for 10-15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  6. To make the maple glaze, whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk together until smooth and pourable. Drizzle over cooled blondies and allow it to set before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • For a thicker glaze, use heavy cream instead of milk.
  • If using a gluten-free option, substitute all-purpose flour with gluten-free flour blend.
  • Make sure to not overmix the batter for a softer texture.
  • Let the blondies cool completely before adding the glaze to avoid melting.
  • You can freeze leftover blondies for up to 3 months.
