Description
Blondies with Maple Glaze are a delightful treat with a buttery flavor and sweet maple glaze. They are soft, chewy, and perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional, such as walnuts or pecans)
- For the maple glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (or heavy cream for a thicker glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter and brown sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. If desired, fold in chopped nuts.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the blondies cool for 10-15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- To make the maple glaze, whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk together until smooth and pourable. Drizzle over cooled blondies and allow it to set before cutting into squares.
Notes
- For a thicker glaze, use heavy cream instead of milk.
- If using a gluten-free option, substitute all-purpose flour with gluten-free flour blend.
- Make sure to not overmix the batter for a softer texture.
- Let the blondies cool completely before adding the glaze to avoid melting.
- You can freeze leftover blondies for up to 3 months.
