Description
Blondie cookies are a delightful treat that are sweeter and lighter than brownies, featuring a buttery, vanilla flavor with a caramel-like taste from brown sugar.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup (220 g) brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (175 g) chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare a 9×13-inch (23×33 cm) baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar, whisking until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the blondies to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into rectangular pieces.
Notes
- Use high-quality butter and chocolate for the best flavor.
- Check for doneness at the 20-minute mark to avoid overbaking.
- Consider adding nuts or dried fruits for variations.
