Ingredients
- Dark chocolate (70% cocoa or higher) – 200 grams (about 7 oz)
- Unsalted butter – 50 grams (about 3.5 tablespoons)
- Eggs – 3 large, separated
- Granulated sugar – 50 grams (about 1/4 cup)
- Heavy cream – 200 ml (about 3/4 cup)
- Cocoa powder – for dusting
- Chocolate shavings – for garnish
- Fresh mint leaves – for garnish
Instructions
- Gather all your ingredients in one place.
- Melt the dark chocolate and unsalted butter using a double boiler.
- Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- Whisk the egg yolks and granulated sugar until pale and creamy, then mix in the melted chocolate.
- Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form and fold them into the chocolate mixture.
- Gently fold in the whipped cream until well combined.
- Spoon the mousse into serving cups and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
