Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8-inch round cake pan by greasing it with butter and sprinkling flour inside.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, ground cardamom, and ground cinnamon.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the rose water, orange zest, and Greek yogurt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, alternating with the whole milk, mixing until just combined. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
- Bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
- Prepare the honey drizzle by warming honey slightly in the microwave for easier drizzling.
- Once the cake has cooled completely, drizzle the warm honey over the top, sprinkle with chopped pistachios, and add edible rose petals if desired.
