Description
A delicious treat that combines the rich flavors of chocolate and peanut butter with the natural sweetness of ripe bananas.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup ripe bananas (about 2–3 medium bananas, mashed)
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (smooth or crunchy, depending on your preference)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for sweetness)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed, to add moisture and depth)
- 2 large eggs (to bind the ingredients together)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for a hint of flavor)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (the base of the brownies)
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (for that rich chocolate taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder (to help the brownies rise)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (to enhance the flavors)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional, for extra chocolatey goodness)
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (for the glaze)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for the glaze)
- 1/4 cup crushed peanuts (for topping, adding crunch)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease an 8×8 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas and creamy peanut butter until smooth. Add the granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract, and stir until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Optionally, fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
- Once baked, let the brownies cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
- Ensure bananas are ripe for maximum sweetness.
- Avoid overmixing the batter to keep brownies light and fudgy.
- Use measuring cups for accurate ingredient amounts.
- Allow cooling time for easier cutting.
- Check for doneness with a toothpick.
