Description
Banana Bars with Chocolate Chips are moist, chewy, and packed with banana flavor, balanced perfectly by melted chocolate chips.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine mashed bananas and softened butter. Mix well, then add granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk together baking soda, salt, and flour. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Gently fold in chocolate chips.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow bars to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
- Ensure the bananas are ripe for the best flavor and moisture.
- Avoid overmixing the batter to prevent dense bars.
- Measure the flour correctly to avoid using too much.
