Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, mash the bananas until smooth. Add softened butter, granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until creamy.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients. Fold in optional add-ins (walnuts or chocolate chips).
  4. Pour batter into the baking dish, spreading evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Allow bars to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.
