  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cold butter (cubed)
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. For the base, combine 1 ¼ cups flour, ½ cup brown sugar, baking powder, salt, butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until crumbly. Press into the pan.
  3. For the apple filling, combine apples, cinnamon, granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Toss until apples are well-coated, then spread over the base.
  4. For the crumble topping, mix oats, ½ cup flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Add cold butter and combine until crumbly. Sprinkle on top of apples.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and apples are tender. Let cool for 10 minutes before cutting into bars.
