  • Active dry yeast: 2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet)
  • Whole milk: 1 cup (240 ml), warmed to about 110°F (43°C)
  • Unsalted butter: 1/4 cup (60 grams), melted
  • Large eggs: 2, at room temperature
  • Ground cinnamon: 2 teaspoons
  • Diced apples: 1 cup (about 2 medium apples)
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon
  • Additional butter: for greasing the pan

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by mixing warm milk with 1 tablespoon of sugar and sprinkling yeast over it. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine remaining sugar, flour, salt, and ground cinnamon. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs. Mix until a slightly sticky dough forms.
  3. Prepare the apple filling by peeling and dicing apples, then tossing them with 1 tablespoon of sugar and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
  4. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle. Spread the apple mixture over the dough and roll it into a log, sealing the seams.
  5. Place the rolled dough in a greased loaf pan, cover, and let it rise for another 30-45 minutes. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
