A delicious and healthy snack made with rolled oats, apples, and cinnamon, perfect for breakfast or a quick treat.
Ingredients
- Rolled oats: 2 cups
- Diced apples: 1 cup (about 2 medium apples)
- Ground cinnamon: 1 teaspoon
- Brown sugar: 1/2 cup, packed
- Honey: 1/4 cup
- Butter: 1/2 cup (1 stick), melted
- Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
- Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8×8-inch baking pan.
- Combine diced apples with 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon in a medium bowl and set aside.
- In a large bowl, mix rolled oats, remaining 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, brown sugar, and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together melted butter, honey, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently. Fold in the prepared diced apples.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan, press down firmly, and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool for 10 minutes, then cut into bars and allow to cool completely on a wire rack.
Notes
- Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
- For longer storage, refrigerate for up to two weeks or freeze individually wrapped bars.
- Feel free to customize with nuts, seeds, or other fruits.
