Description

A thick and gooey giant cookie packed with rich chocolate flavor that melts in your mouth.


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons packed light or dark brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons beaten egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons natural unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (1 tablespoon divided)
  • Optional: 2 teaspoons sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the beaten egg and vanilla extract, stirring until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients and fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
  6. Shape the cookie dough into a tall ball on a lined baking sheet.
  7. Add reserved chocolate chips and optional sprinkles on top.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (177°C) for 18-22 minutes.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for 5-10 minutes before transferring.

Notes

For best results, chill the dough longer for a thicker cookie. Experiment with different chocolate chips and mix-ins.
